ABOUT

James Loughnan (BMus) is a Sydney-based saxophonist, composer and educator. A graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Bachelor of Jazz Studies, he enjoys working with his own creative projects, collaborating with like-minded artists from Sydney, other parts of Australia and other parts of the world, whilst also being a sideman and session musician across many different genres.

CURRENT PROJECTS

Felucca

An Improvised/Jazz/Rock trio featuring bassist Abel Cross and Paul Derricott on drums.  Debut album due for release March/April 2014.

The A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. Orchestra

Part improvisation ensemble, part chamber orchestra, part concert band.
Featuring Joseph Derrick (trumpet), Peter Farrar (saxophone), David de Vries (guitar), Harry Sutherland (piano/organ), Grant Arthur (sousaphone) and James Waples (drums).
